According to Pete Roussel of the Coaching Search, Mark Stoops has hired Derrick Ansley, former corners coach at Tennessee.

Ansley comes by way of Tennessee, where he coached last year under Defensive Coordinator Sal Sunseri.  Ansley also worked as a Secondary assistant coach at Alabama, and helped coach players like Dre Kirkpatrick and Mark Barron, both first round picks.

Before Tennessee, Ansley was at Central Florida for a few months before being brought to Tennessee.

For Tennessee, Ansley recruited heavily in Alabama and Georgia, and figures to do the same at Kentucky.

Derek Dooley had this to say about Ansley when he was hired at Tennessee: ”Derrick is a bright young coach with an incredibly high ceiling in this profession.”
